BOY VEY: THE PLAY

OH YEAH! I DID A THING!

BOY VEY poster website-12.png

Written and Performed by Rachel Kaftan

Directed by Dana Resnick

BOY VEY is a (very) dark comedic solo show that explores the modern perspective of a young Jewish woman in her sexual prime, as she grapples with the harsh reality of being a third generation Holocaust survivor.

Originally Rachel’s senior thesis, BOY VEY was first performed as a livestream (during the height of the pandemic). Since then, the show has gained traction across the country. It was workshopped at Santa Monica Playhouse from January - March 2022, it opened the Piccolo Spoleto Festival at PURE Theatre in Charleston, SC, and it made its NYC debut in Fall of 2022. Rachel and director, Dana Resnick, plan to tour BOY VEY nation-wide for college campuses following New York shows.

Audience members are calling this piece “riveting,” “a fresh perspective,” and “an emotional rollercoaster that utilizes technology on stage in a totally new way.”
